The Satanic Bible is a book written by Anton LaVey, who founded the Church of Satan in San Francisco in 1966. The book was first published in 1969 and is considered the central text of the Church of Satan.

The Satanic Bible is divided into four sections: the Book of Satan, the Book of Lucifer, the Book of Belial, and the Book of Leviathan. It contains LaVey's philosophy of Satanism, which emphasizes individualism, self-indulgence, and the rejection of traditional religious and moral beliefs.

The Book of Satan discusses the importance of embracing one's own nature, desires, and instincts, rather than suppressing them. The Book of Lucifer explores the concept of enlightenment and encourages individuals to seek knowledge and wisdom. The Book of Belial emphasizes the importance of indulging in pleasures and pursuing one's own goals and desires. The Book of Leviathan discusses the idea of carnal pleasure and the importance of indulging in physical sensations.

The Satanic Bible has been controversial since its publication and has been criticized by many religious and moral authorities for its rejection of traditional values and promotion of individualism and self-indulgence. However, it has also gained a significant following among those who identify as Satanists and who see it as a way to embrace their own individuality and pursue their own desires without being constrained by traditional moral and religious codes.

The extended version of the book contains all the forewords that have ever existed for this book.
